Additionally, she has worked with both adults and children who were victims of family violence using trauma-focused group and individual therapy. Prior to becoming a LPC, Sara was a teacher and an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Specialist for individuals with Autism.

Sara is trained to treat adults, teens, and children as young as 3 years old. She specializes in sexual, emotional, and psychological trauma, PTSD, family violence survivors, anxiety, depression, life transitions, codependency, and self-esteem. In her work with teens and children, she specializes in addressing behavioral issues, improving parenting skills and parent-child relationships, ADHD, family conflict, self-harm, self-esteem, and coping skills. Sara is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and also works from an Adlerian perspective focusing on connectedness and understanding a client's family and relational dynamics. She believes connection can provide insight into current behavior patterns and assist in the healing process. Sara is trained in therapeutic play which she uses in her work with children age 9 and under to help them appropriately express their thoughts, regulate emotions, and improve family dynamics. She is an ally of the LGBTQ community and is experienced in working with all individuals and families regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

Sara enjoys spending time with her dog, Walter, traveling, kayaking, cooking, and attending concerts. She also volunteers in her local community and is a member of a women’s leadership organization. Sara is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the American Play Therapy Association.
