Leigh received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mississippi. After completing school, she moved to Dallas, TX where she and her husband live and work. In the past, Leigh has worked for the University of Mississippi, North Mississippi Medical Center and Communicare as a part of a medical team providing mental health treatment to clients. Leigh specializes in treating both adults and teens who struggle with anxiety disorders, addiction, impulsivity, depression and relationship issues. Leigh has been trained in DBT which is a type of therapy that works well in treating emotional dysregulation and Borderline Personality Disorder. She is also trained in the Gottman Method which she utilizes in the treatment of couples therapy.
Since moving to Texas, Leigh has worked at Dallas Metrocare Services providing counseling to clients who have severe and persistent mental illness and limited options for treatment. She became the liaison between Terrell State Hospital and Metrocare Services to ensure that clients get appropriate care after a psychiatric hospital discharge. Therefore it is safe to say that Leigh is comfortable working with almost any client.
Leigh enjoys working with adults, children, families, and couples. Outside of working, she enjoys being active outside, traveling, and spending time with her family and new baby.
Leigh is the interim Clinical Manager at DCTC - Denton and facilitates supervision of newly hired staff as DCTC opens locations.
