Jennifer received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Edwards University in Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She is experienced in treating adults, relationships, adolescents, and young children. Jennifer specializes in the treatment of addiction, sexual, emotional, and physical trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. She is an LGBTQ Ally who provides Relationship Counseling to those in traditional and non-traditional relationships.

Jennifer works with children as young as 6 years old using therapeutic play techniques, creative expression, and art therapy. She enjoys her work with children and teens but is also highly skilled in treating relationship issues such as separation, mending relationships, co-parenting, communication issues, and intimacy.She is trained to treat behavioral issues, ADD, ADHD, and to improve self esteem and confidence. She also has experience in treating life transitions, eating disorders, anger management, grief, Bipolar Disorder, veterans and first responders.

Jennifer is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Seeking Safety, Art Therapy, mindfulness techniques and various other trauma treatments. She works to empower clients through a collaborative and person centered approach. She helps her clients improve their awareness and insight, learn healthy coping strategies and tools, and improve relationships.

Jennifer’s work experience includes providing services at an inpatient and outpatient level of care as well as to children and families at Austin ISD. Immediately prior to joining DCTC, she worked at a hospital providing crisis intervention to individuals struggling with suicidal thoughts and/or in need of detox or substance abuse treatment. In her outpatient work, Jennifer provided counseling to individuals, teens, and children with a variety of different concerns. During her time at Austin ISD, she worked with students and their families to reduce unwanted behaviors and improve communication.

Jennifer was born in New York and raised in Carrollton, TX and she recently relocated to Dallas after spending 5 years in Austin. Jennifer enjoys traveling, painting, playing soccer, and watching professional sports. She loves being outside with her Border Collie, Dilly and Australian Shepherd, Pickles.
