Jennifer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University in Fullerton, California. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from California State University in Northridge, CA. Prior to relocating to Texas, Jennifer worked for over a decade as a licensed therapist specializing in individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Therapy is a second career for Jennifer as she previously taught Pre-K and Kindergarten.
Jennifer is trained to treat children as young as 4 years old, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in treating sexual, emotional, physical, and psychological trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, anger issues, and mood disorders. Jennifer also has experience treating grief, life adjustments, and individuals experiencing relationship stressors. In her work with children, Jennifer specializes in treating ADHD, behavioral issues, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Conduct Disorder, coping with divorce and family changes, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also has experience treating self-esteem related issues and self harm.
Jennifer is trained in the use of Play Therapy, Sand Tray, and Creative and Expressive Art Therapy. She is comfortable and trained to work with the LGBTQ community. Jennifer loves utilizing Attachment Theory and Family Systems to restore trust, connection, self-worth, and independence. She is also highly experienced in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Jennifer is trained in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with adults and children as young as 8 years old. EMDR has been proven effective to treat PTSD, trauma, and negative beliefs about oneself. Jennifer's passion is helping children and adults cope with life adjustments such as divorce and truly loves working with teens. In her work with couples, she utilizes techniques from Prepare and Enrich to rebuild trust and communication.
Jennifer was born and raised in California and relocated to Texas in 2018 with her husband and two young daughters. Although only being here for a short time, she loves Texas. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, the outdoors, especially hiking and boating.
