Heidi is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counseling Intern in the state of Texas. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Master of Science Degree in Counseling. Heidi started her education at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas where she received her Bachelors Degree in psychology.
Heidi began her first training in the counseling field providing outpatient substance abuse treatment to adolescents and adults on probation/parole. Heidi enjoyed the experience she gained from working with adolescents and adults suffering from addictions. While completing her Masters degree, she served as a practicum student at the Dallas Independent School District's alternative education program, where she was able to use knowledge regarding substance abuse and gained knowledge in various areas of counseling. After graduating, Heidi began working at Adapt Communities Solutions as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. During her time with Adapt she gained experience in working with a multitude of clients suffering from persistent mental illness and frequent suicidal ideation.
Heidi has experience working with adults who struggle with substance use, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, PTSD, Personality Disorders and Eating Disorders at Innovation 360. Heidi provides life development to the clients completing Innovation 360 intensive outpatient program where she is able to build a relationship that provides support in transitioning into living a healthy lifestyle.
Heidi enjoys working with a variety of clients of all ages and backgrounds including; depression, anxiety, eating disorders, personality disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and schizophrenia. She has training in providing substance abuse treatment and working with individuals in crisis situations. Heidi is trained in EMDR and can use this method on both children and adults. She is also trained in the Gottman Couples Counseling Method which she utilizes to help couples learn to communicate and improve their relationship. Heidi is experienced in working with LGBTQ couples and individuals.
In her spare time, Heidi enjoys staying very active whether it is indoors or out. Heidi also spends a good deal of time with her adopted dog, Tuna, (pictured) who has special physical needs.
