EMDR Intensive Therapy

EMDR Intensive Therapy offers you the opportunity to condense your therapeutic experience and progress in a shorter time period. While therapy is traditionally offered in a weekly one-hour format, EMDR intensives are highly concentrated sessions, occurring for 4-6 hours per day over the course of 3-5 days. This structure allows you to focus solely on healing, growth, and finding long-lasting improvement. Learn more about EMDR via the EMDR International Association website and our EMDR page.

Our EMDR Intensive therapists are all highly experienced in treating complex issues. They are EMDR Certified therapists and are approved by the EMDR International Association as Consultants. Our EMDR Intensive therapists train other clinicians in the use of EMDR and provide ongoing education and support. Each therapist is trained in a variety of EMDR protocols to treat a wide range of presenting concerns and you will be paired with the best clinician to meet your individual needs.

FAQ

What does an EMDR intensive session look like?

EMDR Intensives typically occur in 4-6 hour blocks of time over the course of 3-5 days. When you meet with a therapist for your virtual consultation, they will make a recommendation for the layout of your intensive treatment.

Intensives may also be scheduled for individuals engaged in weekly counseling that could benefit from intensive treatment on a specific issue or symptom. Your individual therapist can make this clinical recommendation if they determine it would help you.

Does this work as well as weekly therapy?

Research demonstrates that EMDR intensives are as effective as weekly therapy. However, intensives allow you to condense treatment down to one week instead of attending weekly therapy for an extended period of time.

How do I know if an EMDR intensive is right for me?

We offer a free virtual consultation to determine if this would be a good treatment option for your specific needs.

Is an EMDR intensive covered by my health insurance?

Due to the structure of treatment and limitations of insurance plans, these intensives are not currently covered by medical or mental health insurance.

What is the cost of an EMDR intensive?

EMDR Intensives are typically offered in a customized format ranging from 15-30 direct hours over the course of 3-5 days. Your therapist will create a personalized plan with a cost estimate during your free virtual consultation. EMDR Intensives usually range from $2500 to $5000.
