Dasha is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Intern with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Texas. Dasha has worked for Mosaic Family Services providing individual and group counseling to a diverse and multi-cultural population. She provided treatment to young children, teens and adults including the utilization of expressive arts and play therapy. Prior to that, she served as a counselor at The University of North Texas' Counseling and Development Center where she worked mainly with young adults who were struggling with life changes and adjustments. Dasha has also worked as a Mental Health Technician on a psychiatric floor of a local hospital.
Dasha is comfortable treating anxiety, depression and stress-related disorders including adjustment disorders for people who have recently had a major change in their lives. She also works with couples to improve communication and reduce tension. She has experience working with adults, teens and young children where she utilizes play therapy.
Dasha was raised in Ukraine until she was 13 years old when she and her family relocated to the United States. This unique experience provides her a special level of insight into what it is like to adjust to new situations and surroundings. This has led her to develop a special interest in working with individuals and children who are going through life transitions which are causing them stress and anxiety. This can be children struggling with divorce, adults who have moved across the country for new jobs or relationships, relationships ending, etc... She also enjoys working with the LGBTQ community for this reason. Dasha is equally fluent in both Russian and English as she was raised speaking both languages.
In her free time, Dasha loves to read, dance and travel. She is always trying to learn something new as she values a continuous personal and professional development. Dasha is very open minded and interested in learning about each client's individual belief system. She thinks that each individuals beliefs are personal and unique to them and they have to find those for themselves.
